A software glitch led to numerous claimants being falsely accused of theft. Following an appeal that exposed the error, a class-action lawsuit was filed. The organisation needed a solution to fairly assess and generate settlement offers for the affected claimants.

Metamorf partnered with the defendant's law firm to create a fully automated settlement valuation system covering over 20 loss categories, from income loss to psychological damage. We built an online form for claimants, storing responses on an eDiscovery platform. The system extracted data, applied logic co-developed with the legal team, and used financial formulas like interest rates and inflation to calculate settlement offers. It then sent the offers to the CFO for approval and fund allocation, automatically generating and sending settlement letters to claimants via the legal team.

Our system was pivotal in the trial, enabling hundreds of wrongfully accused claimants to receive the compensation they deserved. It also became a template that the law firm now uses for all its class action lawsuits.
