How do you negotiate with hundreds of people at the same time?

A class-action lawsuit is where a group of people who claim to have been wronged by an organisation pool resources and take legal action together. Fuelled by a rise in the availability of litigation funding, they're growing in popularity in the UK. Administrative costs skyrocket when you're disputing with a large group of people. Law firms and in-house teams often do not yet have the technology to reduce the workload.

A modern way to handle claims and produce settlement offers

Realising the costs involved, Metamorf was selected to build software that would automate a significant amount of the work involved. Needed was a system where the claimants could make their claims, that processed them all and understood what people were asking for, calculated individual settlement offers, and then generated official letters to the claimants.

Building a claims management system

This was a collaborative effort between the company, their law firm, and Metamorf. Neither the company nor the law firm had ever built something like this before, and so it was up to Metamorf to lead the way. We led on design, development, and deployment.

A simple interface made it easy for the 300+ claimants to make claims over 20+ heads of loss.

Metamorf's technology played a crucial role in one of the UK's most notable class-action lawsuits. It handled hundreds of millions in claims, saved both the company and its law firm hundreds of man-hours, and reduced costs for the company. Although the law firm missed out on some fees, they gained a product they can use over and over. Everybody won.
